Reconnaissance was a member and key coordinator in the year-long FDA-funded Product Surety Initiative. This served as a precursor to the FDA's Anti-Counterfeiting Task Force, which recently made sweeping technological recommendations to protect the US pharmaceutical supply. It involved bringing together senior representatives from major pharmaceutical firms to discuss concerns about US government policy, anti-counterfeiting technology and internal strategy and culminated in an in-depth report encapsulating the views expressed in the Initiative's working groups as well as the development of a database for the FDA categorising available anti-counterfeiting technologies.
